The Vanuatu's norms, values, and beliefs





The inhabitants of the island of Vanuatu regularly allow male members as young as five years old to jump to their possible fates. They believe that doing this is the only way in which a member can fully earn the right to be called a man, and in some instances, older members will partake in the practice to signify their maintenance of manhood despite their increasing age.
